You are receiving this monthly newsletter because you are an Officer of an ASIS&T SIG or Chapter. Please read for ASIS&T policies, procedures, and upcoming deadlines that are pertinent to your position.

Chapter & SIG Election Reminders

Reminder: Please post your call for nominations for any open Chapter or SIG positions in your respective Chapter or SIG iConnect communities. Specifically, each Chapter or SIG should make a post soliciting nominations for the Chair-Elect position. When sharing the call, be sure to request a brief bio from each nominee for consideration and remind them of the August 29 deadline for submitting nominees.

Annual Reports and Budgets - Due September 1st!

In the last few days, each SIG and Chapter has been sent an email with their 2024-2025 financial report and 2025-2026 budget template attached. The emails were sent to the current Chair/Chair-Elect/Treasurer as HQ has on file.

This email instructs each SIG and Chapter how to submit their Annual Report along with their fiscal year 2025-2026 budget template attached.  

Annual Reports (including FY26 Budget) are due September 1st.

Procedures for Requesting SIG/Chapter Awards

Please fill out THIS FORM to request an award and/or certificate. For awards being handed out at the Annual Meeting, ASIS&T staff will have the certificates available to collect at the registration desk ahead of the Annual Meeting. Requests must be received by November 7 to be awarded at the Annual Meeting.

Please remember that all recipients of ASIS&T awards must be ASIS&T members. You can confirm an awardee's membership status by searching for them in the membership directory.

If your award includes a financial transfer (not a reimbursement) to the awardee, please include a W-9 Form (US Citizen) or a W-8 form (non-US Citizen).

Reserve a SIG or Chapter Business Meeting Time

Your SIG or Chapter's annual business meeting shall be held either at the ASIS&T Annual Meeting or virtually within two weeks before or after the Annual Meeting. An activity report for the previous year shall be presented at this meeting by the outgoing Chair.

If you are planning to hold your SIG/Chapter business meeting during the Annual Meeting, please reserve a one-hour time slot HERE by October 1. 

If you are planning to hold your SIG business meeting virtually, please email Marlo Russell at membership@asist.org to request a Zoom link for your meeting.  For a virtual Chapter business meeting, please email Jonah Coronis at info@asist.org.

SIG & Chapter Tables at ASIS&T Annual Meeting

All SIGs and Chapters are expected to host a table during the Opening Reception of the 2025 ASIS&T Annual Meeting. This is a great opportunity to showcase the impactful work your SIG or Chapter is doing and connect with attendees eager to learn more.

Please ensure your SIG or Chapter has one representative at the table during the Welcome Reception on Sunday, November 16, from 5:45–6:45 PM.

Plan on Hosting a Webinar and/or Event? 

Read this first!

We would like to remind you of the 2 ways to host events for ASIS&T membership and nonmembers.

1. Webinars: Webinars follow a structured format, featuring moderation, audience Q&A via a chat, and dedicated staff support. A $25 fee is required for non-ASIS&T members.

    

2. SIG and Chapter Events: These events are more casual and foster open, conversational participation. They are hosted by the organizer with minimal staff support. All non-members must be charged a fee, though it may be less than $25. All members may be charged a fee, but it is not required. 

Please submit your request to host at least a month before the proposed date. ASIS&T HQ will assist you in the scheduling of your webinar or SIG/Chapter Event based on the calendar availability.

ASIS&T HQ wants to know what's happening with your SIG or Chapter! Please email membership@asist.org with any announcements, information about events, or news to be included in the Weekly Roundup or Inside ASIS&T newsletters. The deadline for Weekly Roundup is every Thursday by 12:00 PM ET. The deadline for the next issue of Inside ASIS&T is September 18, 2025 at 12:00 PM ET.
