GETTING STARTED

Thank you for volunteering as an officer! If you haven't already, please read either the SIG Officer's Manual or the Chapter Officer's Manual to familiarize yourself with the ASIS&T policies and procedures.

NEW! ASIS&T EVENT NOTIFICATION FORM

If your SIG or Chapter is planning an event, please complete this short Event Notification Form. The information will keep ASIS&T HQ in the loop about your activities, help us avoid scheduling conflicts, and let staff know of any needs related to your event. A link to this form can also be found on the SIG Leadership Resources and Chapter Leadership Resources pages. 

ASIS&T WEBSITE UPDATES

Members look to SIG and Chapter websites for up-to-date information about officers, events, awards and special programs. Please make sure your website is kept updated with the most recent information, starting with a list of your 2024 officers. SIG and Chapter webmasters, or chairs in the absence of webmasters, recently received instructions for logging into the websites in order to make changes. If you need help with any updates, please contact Pamela Yonker at pyonker@asist.org.

iCONNECT FOR COMMUNICATION AND ARCHIVING

SIGs and Chapters should use their iConnect discussion as the primary means to communicate with their members.  iConnect syncs with the ASIS&T database daily and therefore allows your communications to reach even the newest member of your SIG or Chapter. 

All current and historical documents of the SIG or Chapter should be saved to either the general SIG/Chapter community or to an officer-only community that can be set up at the request of SIG or Chapter leadership. Please reach out to prior leaders to obtain any historical documentation. Please let ASIS&T HQ know if you require iConnect training.

PROPOSE A WEBINAR

ASIS&T SIGs and Chapters are the best sources of ASIS&T Webinars. If you are interested in presenting an ASIS&T Webinar, please submit this form. All webinars that cover topics deemed to be of interest to the ASIS&T membership and related communities will be considered.

WHAT'S NEW WITH YOU?

ASIS&T HQ wants to know what's happening with your SIG or Chapter! Please email Pamela Yonker at pyonker@asist.org with any announcements, information about events, or news to be included in the Weekly Roundup or Inside ASIS&T newsletters. The deadline for Weekly Roundup is every Thursday by 5:00 PM EST. The deadline for the next issue of Inside ASIS&T is Wednesday, January 17 at 5:00 PM EST.
